Two groups of Puri servitors clash over devotees’ darshan

A dispute between servitors of Puri Jagannath Temple in India turned violent when one group assaulted the other. The police have registered a case against two servitors and charged them with attempted murder and theft. The incident occurred when the accused tried to snatch a register containing details of devotees from Rajasthan. The servitors at the temple have dominion rights over devotees from different states and receive donations in return for facilitating their darshan. The accused will be questioned and legal action will be taken against them.
