Qualcomm eyes to take on Apple’s M series chips with Snapdragon X

Qualcomm is set to release its next-generation ARM-based processors for PCs, called the Snapdragon X series. These chips will offer improved performance, AI capabilities, connectivity, and battery life. The company has developed a new naming convention and design for its PC platforms, using the X Identifier to distinguish them. The chips will feature the Oryon CPU, which is expected to bring significant gains in performance and efficiency. They will also include an NPU for on-device processing of generative AI applications and 5G connectivity. The new chips are scheduled to be released in 2024.
