UN rights body adopts resolution to probe rights abuses in war-torn Sudan

The United nations human rights council has passed a resolution to investigate the humanitarian situation in Sudan, where the army and a paramilitary group have been engaged in conflict for the past six months. The resolution calls for an end to atrocities, the laying down of weapons, and unhindered humanitarian access.
