Cardinal Toppo buried with state honours at St Mary’s Cathedral

Cardinal Telesphore P Toppo, the Emeritus Cardinal, was buried with full state honors in Ranchi. The burial took place in front of the statue of Mother Teresa at St Mary’s Cathedral, a place chosen by the Cardinal himself. People from various communities, including political leaders and representatives from different religious groups, attended the funeral service. A message from Pope Francis expressing grief was read out during the service. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, also paid homage to Cardinal Toppo.
