Nation’s tallest flagpole at Attari awaits Tricolour
The absence of the Indian national flag on the country’s tallest flagpole at the Attari border is disappointing visitors and local residents. The Pakistani flag is visible from up to 9 km within Indian territory, while the Indian flagpole remains bare. Erected at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore, the 418-foot flagpole stands 18 feet taller than its Pakistani counterpart. The lack of the Indian flag diminishes the impact of the flag lowering ceremony and reflects a missed opportunity to inspire national pride and unity. Authorities have stated that technical issues have been addressed and the flag will be hoisted soon.
