As India expands global footprint, govt adds 215 IFS posts

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the cadre review and restructuring proposal of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) to increase the cadre strength by around 215 in the next five years, a move that seeks to fulfil a long-felt need that had grown even more pressing because of the recent rise in India’s influence and the desire to play big on the global stage.
