George Soros to cut jobs, shut offices across world

The Open Society Foundations, a network of foundations founded by George Soros, is closing offices worldwide and cutting more than 40% of its staff. The closures include offices in Africa, Barcelona, and Baltimore. The decision to reduce staff and office locations is due to a need to operate more efficiently. The charity currently distributes over $1 billion in grants annually, with over $100 million going to Africa. Alex Soros, George Soros’ son, is now the chairman of the organization.
