10.5 lakh sqm land identified at Rivona for new IIT-Goa campus

The permanent campus of IIT-Goa will be located in Rivona, Sanguem. The South Goa district collector has issued a public notice for the acquisition of nearly 10.5 lakh sq m of privately owned land. The new location was identified after the previous site in Sanguem was rejected due to being unsuitable for the project. IIT Goa has been functioning from a temporary campus at the Goa Engineering College premises since 2016. Multiple potential sites for the permanent campus have been rejected or faced protests in the past.
