Sexual literacy programme held at six Delhi government schools
The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has initiated workshops on sexual literacy in government schools to educate adolescents. The program, called “Aao Baat Karein”, covered topics such as unwanted pregnancy and hormonal changes. Ranjana Kumari of DCPCR emphasized the importance of discussing these subjects openly with students as parents and teachers often avoid such conversations. The workshops aim to provide students with the right knowledge and address issues like bullying and self-esteem. DCPCR plans to select student leaders to continue these conversations among their peers.
