Celine Song’s ‘Past Lives’ find it’s Indian antecedent in tamil romantic drama ’96’, in search of the deeply wounded love

The Korean romantic drama film ‘Past Lives’ and its Indian counterpart ’96’ share similarities in their portrayal of lost love and the impact of past relationships on the characters’ present lives. Both films explore themes of unrequited love, missed opportunities, and the complexities of emotional connections. ‘Past Lives’ delves deeper into the characters’ feelings through dialogue, while ’96’ relies on a single song to convey the emotions. Despite their similarities, both movies offer unique cinematic experiences that resonate with audiences.
