CBI arrests ‘mastermind’ in Manipuri students’ abduction case from city

A 22-year-old Manipur resident has been arrested by a special investigation team of the CBI for allegedly masterminding the abduction and presumed murder of two missing Manipuri students. The suspect, Paolunmang, was apprehended in Pune with the help of the CBI’s anti-corruption unit. Photos of the victims’ bodies had emerged in September, sparking protests in Manipur. Four other suspects were arrested earlier this month, leading to the discovery of Paolunmang’s involvement.
