France to deploy 7,000 soldiers after teacher’s slaying

France will deploy 7,000 soldiers following a fatal stabbing incident at a school in Arras. The attack, committed by a Chechen-origin man, was labelled as an act of “Islamist terror” by President Emmanuel Macron. The soldiers will be deployed by Monday evening, as France raises its alert level to the highest position. Macron also mentioned that a separate attempted attack had been foiled by security forces.
