All hands on deck to bring goddess Durga to life

With just a week left for Durga Puja, idol makers in Delhi are working tirelessly to complete the idols on time. Artisans from Kumartuli in West Bengal have been summoned to the capital to make the Durga idols, while others are working in Chittaranjan Park. The idol-making process involves crafting a sturdy bamboo and straw frame, followed by layering clay and adding finishing touches. The artisans face financial challenges but are dedicated to delivering the idols on time. Some artisans also receive orders from overseas clients and other states in India.
