Hardline Republican Jim Jordan picks up support in bid for US House speaker

Hardline Republican Jim Jordan is gaining support for his campaign to become the U.S. House of Representatives Speaker. Despite opposition from within his own party, Jordan believes he has the momentum to win the floor vote on Tuesday. The Republican infighting has delayed funding for federal agencies and assistance to Israel and Ukraine. Jordan has promised to prioritize military and spending legislation.
