For Haryana’s workers, parties in Punjab built opposition to SYL

Retired employees of the Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal project in Haryana reminisce about the enthusiasm and employment opportunities that the project brought. They recall that there was no initial resistance from the people in Punjab, but it was the political parties that created a narrative of water scarcity in Punjab. Despite the emotional attachment and efforts put into the project, Haryana has not been able to receive any water from the SYL canal in Punjab.
