Woman, 2 others held for murder of mother-in-law

A woman, her lover, and his friend have been arrested for the murder of a 50-year-old woman in Bengaluru. The woman, Rashmi, was the daughter-in-law of the deceased. She had developed an affair with her lover, Akshay, and the two planned to kill the woman. Rashmi laced her mother-in-law’s food with sleeping pills, and Akshay smothered her to death. The murder was discovered after Akshay’s roommate found incriminating messages and called details on his phone and informed the victim’s son.
