Population up, we need more water: PMC to irrigation dept

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is requesting the irrigation department for an increase in water supply from 12.8 TMC to 21 TMC annually due to increased water demand. The PMC administrator stated that the population has grown, and the civic limits have expanded after merging with different areas. The irrigation department claims that the PMC is exceeding the allocated water quota and not treating the required amount of water. The PMC is the largest municipal corporation in Maharashtra and has seen a population increase of 4 lakh after the merger.
