Tharoor clarifies after calling Cong a ‘family-run’ party

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor believes that the INDIA coalition has a real chance of defeating the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, his remark dubbing Congress a “family-run party” caused controversy. Tharoor clarified that he has previously called the Nehru-Gandhi family the strength of Congress and that his informal remark was being misrepresented. He mentioned that either Mallikarjun Kharge or Rahul Gandhi could be the PM candidate from Congress. Tharoor also expressed confidence in the prospects of the INDIA bloc and emphasized the importance of defeating the BJP.
