Delhi LG VK Saxena okays move to help more Kashmiri migrants
The eligibility criteria for Kashmiri migrant families to receive monthly relief under the Centre’s scheme has been tweaked. Previously, families earning up to Rs 10,000 a month were eligible for relief, but now families with a monthly income of Rs 27,000 can receive assistance. This change is expected to increase the number of beneficiaries by around 70%. Additionally, the LG approved the proposal to add more names to the Kashmiri Migrant Cards and recognize grown-up or married children as separate units. Aadhar data of eligible family members will be mandatory for receiving relief payments.
