Israel-Hamas conflict: Why Harvard University has become a poster child for America’s culture war

Harvard University has become embroiled in a controversy over the Israel-Hamas conflict and issues of free speech, academic freedom, and anti-Semitism. It started when a coalition of student groups blamed Israel for the violence. Harvard’s president condemned the statement, but some alumni and donors accused the signatories of being anti-Semitic. The university has not taken an official stance but reaffirmed its commitment to free expression. The controversy reflects wider divisions in US.
