Abort test today will be giant leap towards Isro getting Gaganyaan-ready

By on October 20, 2023 0 15 Views

The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is conducting an 8.8-minute mission to test an abort condition for its future human spaceflight mission, Gaganyaan. The test will simulate an anomaly and allow the crew module to perform tumbling manoeuvres, deploy parachutes, and land in a designated spot at sea. Isro scientists hope the test will provide critical data on crew safety systems and insights into the re-entry phase of the mission. The mission is the first in a series of abort tests planned before the uncrewed mission and the crewed mission in 2025.
