2-3 newborns share a cradle at this Maha govt hospital: Study
A study conducted by NGO Jan Arogya Abhiya found that government hospitals and primary healthcare centers in Nanded, India are overloaded with patients and facing a shortage of staff. The study also revealed that babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are often made to share cradles due to limited resources. The investigation team gathered information from hospital administrators, doctors, nurses, and social activists, and found deficiencies in specialized healthcare in the district. The nurse-to-patient ratio in the NICU was significantly below recommended standards, and there were only 5 junior resident doctors for the entire pediatrics department.
