Egypt-Gaza border reopens for first time since Hamas attack
The border crossing between Egypt and Gaza has reopened, allowing a limited amount of aid into the besieged Palestinian territory. Only 20 trucks were granted entry, which aid workers say is inadequate to address the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The reopening of the border followed diplomatic efforts involving various mediators, including US President Joe Biden and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Israel’s condition for allowing aid was the release of all captives held by Hamas.
