Cracks in Lahaul-Spiti village sparks panic
The village of Lindur in Himachal Pradesh, India is facing a survival battle as cracks in houses and fissures on farms threaten the safety of its residents. The villagers are living in constant fear of their houses collapsing and have been sleeping outside. The cracks have also affected agricultural land and pastures, putting livelihoods at risk. The swelling of the Jahlama tributary is exacerbating the situation, with many blaming connected irrigation channels for the subsidence.
