Two Planes narrowly miss Mid-Air Collision above Portland Airport

Portland International Airport experienced a near-miss when an Alaska Airlines flight and a SkyWest plane narrowly avoided colliding. The incident occurred during stormy weather, with a video capturing the moment the two planes came within 250 vertical feet of each other. “While attempting to land at Portland International Airport, the pilot of Alaska Airlines Flight 1299 initiated a go-around due to wind and turned towards SkyWest Airlines Flight 3978, which had just departed,” the FAA said.
