Proposed conversion of residential area into commercial slammed

Residents and activists in Ludhiana are unhappy with a proposal to convert a residential area into a commercial one. The proposal, made by MLA Gurpreet Gogi, suggests converting a road near a gurdwara into a commercial area. Residents fear that this will disrupt the original plan of the area and have raised concerns about the lack of parking space and the impact on the local market. Ludhiana Improvement Trust has also questioned the deviation from the original plan and has requested the Municipal Corporation to obtain a No Objection Certificate before issuing building plans in residential areas.
