Eateries to serve food under the open sky in Sec 17 Plaza

The municipal corporation of Chandigarh has granted permission to three restaurants in Sector 17 to create outdoor seating areas in the Plaza. The aim is to attract more visitors to the area, which has been losing out to shopping malls. The outdoor seating areas will be European-styled and designed, and will offer diners the opportunity to enjoy their meals in fresh air and sunshine. The concept is expected to become popular during daytime in winter and summer evenings. The plan is to expand the outdoor seating concept to other parts of the Plaza in the future.
