Two clubs decline government puja award over ‘process’, NREGS dues

Two popular clubs in Kolkata, Tala Prattoy and Kalyani’s Luminous Club, have declined the Durga Ratna award given by the governor. The clubs raised concerns about the selection process and suggested that the governor should focus on releasing funds for the poor instead. The governor’s office has not responded to this. The award comes with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and was given to four clubs based on public nominations.
