Israel-Hamas war: Florida orders state universities to disband pro-Palestinian student group

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has directed state universities to prohibit the pro-Palestinian student group, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), accusing them of supporting Hamas militants. The move comes amid escalating Israeli actions in Gaza and growing support for Palestinians among college students. The governor has taken a pro-Israel stance and has called for new sanctions on Iran, a Hamas supporter. Critics view the ban as an attempt to curb freedom of speech, as Florida has implemented measures perceived as curtailing free speech in educational institutions.
