‘Israeli envoy says Taiwan a good friend, China’s response to Hamas attacks ‘disturbing’

Israel’s envoy in Taipei expressed gratitude for Taiwan’s support and condemned China’s response to the attack by Hamas militants. While Israel does not have formal diplomatic ties with Taiwan, it sees the country as an important democratic partner. China, on the other hand, has not condemned Hamas specifically in its comments on the conflict and vetoed a UN Security Council proposal for humanitarian aid and civilian protection.
