China says Taiwan government risking ‘dangerous war’

China’s defence ministry has accused Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party of pushing the island towards a dangerous situation of war. This comes after reports that Taiwan plans to purchase military drones. China claims Taiwan as its territory and tensions have escalated since President Tsai Ing-wen came to power. The Chinese Ministry of Defence spokesperson stated that the DPP is accelerating Taiwan towards war and violence. China has increased military pressure on Taiwan, and the number of warplane flights has spiked. Taiwan also reported that a Chinese flotilla led by an aircraft carrier has entered the Pacific Ocean.
