6-month pregnant woman ‘beaten to death’ by in-laws

A pregnant woman in Biharsharif was allegedly beaten to death by her in-laws after they discovered through an illegal ultrasound that she was carrying a girl child. The victim, Kusum Devi, was six months pregnant and already had two daughters and a visually impaired son. Her husband and in-laws have gone into hiding. The police have dismissed the family’s claim regarding the ultrasound and are investigating the case based on the complaint and postmortem report. The deceased’s sister has accused the husband and his relatives of murder.
