Senator urges US govt to continue pushing India on human rights issues

A US Senator has introduced a resolution in the Senate, urging the Biden administration to address alleged religious discrimination and violence against protesters in India. The resolution calls for the US government to engage with India and reverse policies that discriminate against religious minorities. India has previously dismissed US reports on religious freedom as “motivated” and “biased”. The resolution also calls for an end to the demolition of homes, businesses, and places of worship belonging to Muslims and Christians in India.
