‘It stinks’: Sewage spills out of Kharadi’s ageing drains

Housing societies and a preschool in Kharadi’s Tukaramnagar are facing issues with overflowing sewage. The drainage system, designed 15 years ago, is unable to handle the increased demand from the growing number of societies in the area. Residents have complained about the stench, mosquito breeding, and dirty water splashing on them. The residents are requesting a bigger pipeline to be installed to handle the load and prevent the accumulation of sewage. The Pune Municipal Corporation is currently working on placing a 12-inch pipeline and considering a larger pipeline.
