Priyanka, Himanta get EC notices for remarks

The Election Commission has issued notices to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for their alleged objectionable remarks during campaigning in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh respectively. The notices state that their remarks violate the model code provision, which requires criticism of other parties to be confined to their policies and programs, and not extend to private aspects of party leaders or be based on unverified allegations.
