Israel says the vast network of Hamas tunnels will make a ground offensive long and difficult

Israel’s defence minister, Yoav Gallant, stated that a ground offensive into Gaza is expected soon, aiming to destroy the network of tunnels used by Hamas. The invasion will involve large forces, backed by airstrikes, and is expected to last a long time. The Palestinian death toll has exceeded 7,300, including over 3,000 minors and 1,500 women. Hospitals in Gaza are facing fuel shortages due to Israeli restrictions, and the UN agency for Palestinian refugees is rationing fuel among life-saving machines.
