Pakistan’s former PM Nawaz Sharif under fire for using sexist remarks against PTI women supporters

Pakistan’s former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, faced criticism in the Senate for allegedly making sexist remarks at a rally. Sharif attacked women from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party for dancing at their rallies, which led to opposition and calls for him to be taught how to “respect women.” This incident echoed a similar incident involving former chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain. Sharif’s remarks were seen as sexist and misogynistic, with critics highlighting his belief that only his daughter, Maryam, should be involved in politics.
