Now, snacks in classroom for students with type-I diabetes
The Maharashtra education department has announced that students with type-1 diabetes from grades I to XII will now be allowed to eat snacks and take medicines in the classroom and during exams. The students using Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM), Flash Glucose Monitoring (FGM), and/or insulin pumps will be permitted to keep these devices with them. If a smartphone is used for glucose monitoring, it should be kept with the teacher or invigilator. The decision was made based on the recommendations of the chairman of the National Commission for Child Rights.
