‘7 month fetus like child’: Mother awarded Rs 10 L

A motor accident claims tribunal in Mumbai has ordered a tours and travel company to pay approximately Rs 10 lakh in compensation to a woman who suffered a miscarriage and gave birth to a stillborn child following a car accident in 2014. The tribunal stated that the fetus should be considered as a child in existence and awarded the compensation for the pain and suffering, loss of amenity, enjoyment of life, and loss of child. The woman was also awarded compensation for the death of her husband and her own head injuries.
