Kerala: 1 killed, 36 injured in multiple blasts

Kerala DGP Shaik Darvesh Saheb on Sunday said that the blast at a convention centre that claimed one life and injured 36 others was caused due to an improvised explosive device (IED). The blasts took place at Zamrah International Convention Centre in Kalamassery during the convention of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan described the incident as very unfortunate. Union home minister Amit Shah spoke to CM Vijayan, and also instructed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard (NSG) to reach on the spot and start an inquiry into the incident.
