LG gives sanction to prosecute 10 cops in embezzlement case

LG VK Saxena has granted permission to prosecute 10 Delhi police officers accused of embezzling government funds totaling Rs 2.44 crore. The officers, including sub-inspectors, head constables, and constables, allegedly transferred the embezzled amount to their own accounts and those of their relatives. The Economic Offence Wing filed a chargesheet against four of the accused and is seeking court approval to chargesheet the others. Four of the accused have already been dismissed from service. The investigation is ongoing, and the embezzled funds have not yet been recovered.
