Fly another day: Fares up 282% ahead of Diwali

Airfares for Diwali travel in India have increased by up to 282% this year. The high demand for domestic destinations, as well as visa issues for Europe, has led to the surge in prices. Flights to popular holiday destinations and major cities have become more expensive, with return fares reaching as high as Rs 57,000 per person. The increase in inbound flights to Ahmedabad due to the World Cup final and the launch of new direct flights to various destinations have also contributed to the rise in airfares.
