Pakistan-based Khalistani separatist Lakhbir Singh Rode, designated as an individual terrorist by the Union home ministry, died in Pakistan due to a heart attack. He headed banned organizations International Sikh Youth Federation and Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF). Rode, a nephew of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, was named in various terror cases, including the Kanshika bombing in 1985. In October this year, the NIA special court in Mohali ordered the confiscation of his land at Kothe Gurupura village in Moga district.
