Probing attack on SF consulate: FBI tells NIA

In a distinct indication of ongoing collaboration between the NIA and FBI, Director Christopher A. Wray conveyed to NIA DG Dinkar Gupta on Tuesday that the FBI is actively pursuing an investigation into the assault on the Indian consulate in San Francisco. On March 19, 2023, the consulate fell victim to an attack by a group of protesters who vandalized the premises and tried to set the building ablaze, resulting in injuries. The NIA is currently investigating the incident and, in September, released images of the individuals involved, appealing for assistance in identifying their whereabouts.
