EC revokes suspension of T’gana DGP who saluted Reddy
The Election Commission of India revoked the suspension of former DGP Anjani Kumar, who had saluted CM-designate A Revanth Reddy during the assembly election counting process. Kumar acknowledged his mistake, offered an unconditional apology, and gave a voluntary undertaking not to repeat such misconduct. The state government recommended the revocation of his suspension. The EC instructed the state government to issue a warning to Kumar about his conduct. Anjani Kumar is an IPS officer of the 1990 batch. The EC emphasized that his meeting with a candidate during the counting process violated the model code of conduct.
