Quad summit postponed as Biden skips R-Day

India has postponed the Quad summit it had proposed to host in the last week of January next year with President Joe Biden declining India’s invite for the January 26 Republic Day celebrations. India sought to time the summit with Republic Day to make it more worthwhile for President Biden to visit India as the chief guest. However, Biden’s unavailability may be due to a scheduling issue as the date for his annual State of the Union address has not been decided yet. The Quad summit is now proposed to be held later in 2024.
