ED may arrest CM Soren for no-show after 6 summons

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s refusal to appear before investigating officers in a money laundering case has led the Enforcement Directorate to consider taking him into custody. Soren is facing allegations of corruption and money laundering in multiple cases, including mining and land scams. He is also under investigation in connection with allegations of protection money paid to individuals close to him. The ED has previously seized cash and bank accounts from one of Soren’s close associates and has revealed over Rs 1,000 crore of ‘proceeds of crime’ in the mining scam alone.
