Shahi Idgah to move SC against HC order on mosque survey
The Shahi Idgah committee plans to challenge the Allahabad high court’s decision in the Supreme Court regarding the survey of the mosque premises in Mathura. The committee’s secretary, Tanveer Ahmed, stated that they will take all possible legal actions against the high court’s ruling. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) spokesperson, Qasim Rasool Ilyas, expressed support for the Shahi Idgah mosque committee and assured assistance from AIMPLB’s legal committee. In 1991, the Central government passed a law to resolve religious disputes, maintaining the status quo of places of worship.
