The success of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has led to the emergence of potential captaincy contenders for the Mumbai Indians (MI) team. Hardik Pandya, who has a successful captaincy record with Gujarat Titans, is being considered as a successor in the post-Rohit Sharma era. Other captaincy options include Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav.
