IPL betting scam: HC sentences IPS officer to jail on Dhoni plea

IPS officer Sampath Kumar has been sentenced to 15 days of imprisonment by the Madras high court in a contempt of court petition filed by cricketer MS Dhoni. However, the sentence has been suspended for 30 days to allow Sampath Kumar to appeal. Dhoni accused Sampath Kumar of making scandalous statements against the Supreme Court and the high court, as well as false allegations against senior counsels. The court found Sampath Kumar guilty of contempt of court.
